IT WAS A TOTAL MISTAKE

I talked my mom into perming my hair... WTF was I thinking?!

Yep, this was all my own doing. I wanted beautiful beachy waves for summer, so I got this bright idea to have my mom use an at-home perm kit on my hair.

IT WAS A TOTAL MISTAKE

First of all, my mom has been doing (cutting, coloring & styling) my hair since, well, birth. Up until recently (completely unrelated to this post) she's been the ONLY person I would let touch my hair. So I had no fear when I purchased 3 boxes of at-home-perm and brought them to her house and said... "perm my hair". She on the other hand, was hesitant. And I should have listened to my mother... OMG did I just say that?!

Let's Talk Lip Gloss

Lip Gloss, Lip Balm, Chapstick, Lip Stick, Lip Stain, Lip Liner .....

Let's Talk Lip Gloss

The list goes on and on of products for your lips. But what's a girl to do when she wants it ALL, a perfectly plumped, moisturized, glamorous pout?! Well, honestly I don't know of a product that has it all in one tube (if you do, please share.) but I do know that you can make an informed decision on what you do put on your lips, wether it's one or multiple products daily. Some of the most popular lip ointments contain harmful chemicals and extracts that will actually dry your lips out more, causing you to use more and thus developing a vicious cycle of dry cracked lips. As if having dry cracked lips wasn't enough, acting like a crack-head when you don't have some chapstick near by, is also not pretty.

Nails from the crypt.... A reminder to keep your nails clean and healthy

Over the weekend during my usual shopping outing with my Mom, I saw something truly horrifying: a woman working at the jewelry counter of a department store that had a very obvious nail infection. It was terrible. I felt so bad for her. Now, maybe her nails were left over from a very very realistic zombie halloween costume manicure.... and if that was the case, BRAVO to her manicurist for doing such a fantastic job. However, I suspect a true salon horror story has happened to her.

What is your face telling you? Face Mapping

Why are certain areas more prone to break-outs than others?

What is your face telling you? Face Mapping

Well, as my midwife explained to me shortly after having my daughter... different zones of your face correspond to different organs and issues with your body. Like I've mentioned before, prior to my pregnancy I had a near-perfect porcelain complexion. When I started to have, what seemed like a never-ending, cycle of breakouts on my chin I was pretty much mortified. I thought "Whelp, this is it... I'm getting adult acne. I was so lucky in middle and high school to have good skin... this is it. The universe's retribution for me thinking I was hot s**t then."

Documenting my weightloss journey.

In pursuit of the

Some of you know me personally and know that I've been trying to loose weight, not just a few pounds, but literally like 100lbs. I've had my ups and downs like everybody I guess but being in a wedding this December, has really put the squeeze on me to shed some of those lbs as fast as possible.

I know you are thinking "100 lbs, that's a whole damn person! Did you eat the Olsen twins or something?!" The answer is no, I'm working on portion control, I only ate one of them!

In all seriousness, it's a lot of weight to loose, I have set a major goal for myself. I'm doing it for my health mostly, but getting to "hot mom" status is my ulterior motive. Prior to getting pregnant I lost close to 70lbs (in only 9 months) and was feeling pretty good [That's me and the hubs up there ^ lookin all skinny]. Then BOOM! I could have been on that "I did't know I was pregnant" show because I was seriously 4 1/2 months preggers before I knew about it (that's a different story for another time though). Cut to 3 years later and I've gained all the weight I lost back and then some. Stress, having a toddler that DOES NOT SLEEP, medications and having a profession where I sit pretty much all day, have packed on the lbs generously.

So when I was asked to be a part of two friends' wedding, that are more like family, A) I couldn't say no B) I thought to my self "Ok time to get my A$$ in gear".
